HOW TO FETCH USER NAME

HI all

I used

User.Identity.Name.ToString() to fetch the user name , but this gave me the domain/user_Id eg. India/191193 I need name of the user so that I can show it on the welcome page , is it possible with user.identity or i've to go to active directory

please help
