ASP.Net Control events don't fire after converting site to SSL

I have an ASP.Net application integrated with a Sharepoint site using the procedure of copying the web site to the _layouts folder. Everything was working fine until I converted the Sharepoint site to an SSL site through IIS. Now they are certain controls whose events don't appear to fire. For example, a TreeView control no longer fires the SelectedNodeChange Event. Also, a radion button list no longer fires the onSelectedIndexChange event. When you click on either the tree node or radion button it is as if nothing has happened. Again, this is only after the change to an SSL site. If I change to Sharepoint site back to a normal Http site everything works fine again. Any thoughts?
