I have created ajax-1.0-Enabled asp.net application project in vs2008 and got my membership provider to work with it just fine.
But VS does not generate ProfileCommon class and Profile is just a namespace. How do I access the user Profile settings that are defined in web.config? Below is how profile section of web.config looks in case it is the root of the issue:
