problem with using buttonField

Hi
in my gridView i want to use buttonField to handle my custom Commands. to do this, i've use this code :
<asp:ButtonField HeaderText="AdvanceEdit" CommandName="Edit" ItemStyle-CssClass="gridViewEditStyle" ItemStyle-HorizontalAlign="Center" />

this works good but it does not have any link type and when i drag mouse over it, nothing happened (does not have link functionality).
what's the problem and how to solve it (note : in my css class i'm using image to display in the field, if i use buttonType='Button' i loose the image)?
