array probelm???????

I declare array globaly like below.....
string[] arr_dt_count;

than in method fill array like below.
for (int j = 0; j < days; j++)
        {
            arr_dt_count[j] = dt.AddDays(j).ToString("dd");
        }

and i got exception object refrence no set to instant of ..........
