How to Redirect a page after x seconds

Hello,
I am tring to redirect but somehow it doesnt work.
I want to redirect a user after x seconds.
Here is what I am trying:
<asp:Panel ID="pnlRedirect" runat="server" Visible="false"> <head><meta http-equiv="refresh" content="10;url=submit.aspx?id=-1"/></head> </asp:Panel>
Tried also rediect on codebehind, with sleep method, on PageLoad, but then, the page doesn't show...so maybe I can put this code on another page life cycle method?
