I have looked high and low on the web and I cannot seem to find anything out there that shows you how to create a completely from scratch membership provider.
Everything I find on the web inherits from the MS Membership Provider.
Now here is the reasons I have behind this
Even though yes you can override the current provider it still heavier then what I am looking for.
I want complete not only control but complete understanding of how it works hence build it myself
Building one from scratch allows me to futher my personal knowledge.
Recent website I built for someone has run across numerous issues with using specifically the RoleProvider
And Finally darn it when I get curious about something I have to figure it out or else I go crazy trying to.
All in all I DO NOT want a complete (nor do I expect to find one) solution. I am simply looking for a starting point showing how to set the variables ...
