I am reading a beginner's ASP.NET 3.5 book although I am decently experienced with C# 2008. However, I seem to have hit a problem that I couldn't seem to solve by searching (everyone else's problem seemed to be it not coming up true). I am writing a test page for trying out the Page.isValid property and validation controls. I am just trying to check if Javascript is enabled on the browser, but it is always coming up true, even when I turn Javascript off in the browser and restart it (the only text that the submit button will change to is "valid", never "invalid"). Maybe I am missing something, but the book doesn't tell me anything else I need to do for it to work correctly. I am at a loss. Here is my code:

<%@ Page Language="C#" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> ...
