Hi,
I learned programming web pages by myself.  I usually have all my pages in the same directory.
But I often visit websites where the URL never contains a ".asp, .aspx, .php, .html, etc etc" page.  I only see directories.
What is the advantage of doing that ?
How is it done exactly ?  The developper only makes "index.???" pages and create a separate directory for each page?

Thank you for helping me understand more about this website pattern.
