How to understand about SupressMessage attribute?

I don't have idea at-all about SupressMessage attribute, at the same time I couldn't get nice urls in google to understand about it, might be because of my poor search criteria.
I have some doubts on SupressMessage attribute like below:
I have seen this following code in one project.
[System.Diagnostics.CodeAnalysis.SuppressMessage("Microsoft.Security", "CA2124:WrapVulnerableFinallyClausesInOuterTry")]
public ReturnType MethodName(paramters)
{
     ...
     ...
}
I understood that we use SupressMessage attribute to just supress the warning message. Am I right?
