Try Catch not running propally

Hi Folks need your help with something which must be simple i just don't know where im going wrong
I have a try catch which i am using to check if the text in a text box is a number if it is then it should do some calculations then open a modalpopup
I stripped the code down for the brevity but after I parseInt no other code will run
