I need to integrate 5 different application in one. Coming form JAVA world I was thinking about creating a host application, and then creating plugins which will extend the main one and will add more functionalities until I get to the point where my 5 applications are fully integrated. But I learned that in .NET SOA is quite popular. For SOA, In my understanding I need to create a common web services application, and then create 5 different front ends which will share same back end engine.
what are Pros and Contras for these 2 architectures?
