I have a number of fields in various tables where I would like to use a listbox to display valid choices for a field in a detailsview control. The classic example is the listbox with the two character abbreviations for states. The user clicks on the listbox
to open it; he makes a state choice and the choice is recorded in the row that is displayed in the detailsview control. He fills in the remaining fields himself and then clicks insert to put the record in the table. I would like to do as much as possible
of the creation by using VWD 2010 express. Seems to me the field where I want to use the listbox is somehow created in a template of the field.
Can anyone tell me where to find a play by play description of how to do this? It's done all the time. All the statements I have written to employ Google to find how to do it produce anything but what I want to do.
