XML Serialization

Hi,
I'm trying to serialize a series of classes. One property i have is
<System.Xml.Serialization.XmlAttributeAttribute()> _
    Public Property name() As String
        Get
            Return Me._nameField
        End Get
        Set(value As String)
            Me._nameField = value
        End Set
    End Property
Now, this property appears in multiple classes. After serialization, the property appears only once in the XML. where as multiple instances of the property have been set.
If i change the Property to "Name" from "name", it starts appearing at multiple locations. Is there any issue with the word " ...
