I have created a custom page that is basically a table with values in. It is more complicated than a Datagrid/Gridview.
What I have noticed is that Excel can open any html documents. So I just entered the following lines to ensure that the page is read as an Excel document:
'Tell the response this is an excel file
Response.Buffer = True
Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel"
Response.AddHeader("content-disposition", "attachment;filename=rptOverview.xls")
Response.Charset = ""
Me.EnableViewState = FalseThis works perfectly for IE6. But when I try this on IE8, the window just opens and then closes, without asking me to save/open the excel file. I am guessing there is a secuirty tickbox in IE8 that is causing this. Could someone please help.
