DynamicEventhandling

I am creating a file and need to open the file.After creating i added the file name to a dynamic linkbutton and bind that with into palceholder control,am giving the command argument for this linkbutton as 
lbtn.CommandArgument = _path;//path=file name path
lbtn.CommandName = _filename;//file name

also adding a delegate as
lbtn.Click += new EventHandler(lbtn_click);
.I need to raise the a click event on that linkbutton click.
but only the postback is happeningn the click event is not raising
