Cant create code behind file

I just bought a video tutorial about ASP.net. In that tutorial the intructor double clicked on a click event of a button and a new file was opened but when I try to do that visual studio just adds the event handler to the same page. Is there a way to create 'code behind' files by default.
 
I was using "ASP.net MVC 2 empty web application"
