I constantly hear from my team that you should never return datasets and bind using datasets.  I partly agree with that just because I love using Generic lists or arrays to push up to the BL, and bind in the presentation layer.  In fact I have not used Datasets in a while now because we're using generics, or arrays which are more "light weight".
So I had this interview on the phone the other day.  The CIO who was an ex microsoft high up says they use strong datasets.  I said we don't use datasets because they are too heavy in the DL.  But I also said I had played with "strong" datasets and now I am wondering if Strong datasets are lightweight?  Are they light enough to be returning from the DL or is it still just bad to use Datasets all around?  I sort of like using the IDataReader from my CodeGenened Classes, and not returning and binding and returning datasets in my DL, and bubbling up to the BL instead arrays, g ...
