In the following scenario, what is the cleanest way to create an ellpsis that fills in the whitespace in the first column of a 2-column fixed-width table in ASP.NET 2.0?

This is somewhat the opposite of setting the text-overflow style, which would handle truncated text. In this situation, there is no truncated text and the ellipsis will serve to fill in the remaining white space in the div.

Description:
The table is 2 columns and has a fixed width of 450 pixels.
It resides in a web form.
Its contents are static (no data to fetch).
The text in left column varies in width, but the left div is a fixed width.
The right column contains just a checkbox.

How the finished table should look:
short text. . . . . . . . . . . . . . [checkbox here] some medium text. . . . . . . [checkbox here] some very long text here . . ...
