Create HTML elements in the code behind

 Hi,
I have a page where I create a HTML table in the code behind, something like this:
htmlInput +=  
"<td> <input type='button' id='id" & sql_s_id & "' runat='server' value='" & snameShort & "...' onserverclick='testbutton' /></td>"

But when I click on the button, nothing happens. If I create the button in the HTML code directly, it works:
<input Go to the complete details ...
