Creating An Excel Workbook & Worksheets

I would like to write an ASP.Net Application that can create a workbook and populate the workbook with worksheets.
The ASP.Net Application would then write data & formulas into the worksheet & then make the Excel workbook available for download.
 Can this be done? How do I do this? How do I get access to Excel on a remote shared server. TIA-Steve
