button click events not firing on first visit to the default.aspx page

When a user visits our website using
http://shareyourloss.com/
the login and search buttons don’t work. Once the page is
refreshed and the URL is
http://shareyourloss.com/default
the buttons works.
We think this problem stems from our URL rewriting but we
don’t know how to fix it. If anybody has any suggestions we would really appreciate
it.
