I'm looking at a legacy vb.net application.  It's running on .NET 1.1.  It's basically a bunch of web forms, all with CodeBehind files.  Here's a typical page directive:

<%@ Page Language="vb" CodeBehind="AssignToOrder.aspx.vb" AutoEventWireup="false" Inherits="Company.AssignToOrder" %>
All the files are compiled to a single DLL.  I can remove/modify any of the CodeBehind files, and nothing happens.
I understand I can modify a .vb file, and recompile to make changes.
I have 2 questions:
 1) I would like to be able to make changes in only 1 file.  How can I separate them from the single DLL?
2) Were the .vb files left just so the source would be available?
Thanks much!
