Need Help With CreaterUserWizard Not Logging In New User

 My code (deleted extraneous items) is shown below.
The new user is being entered into the Membership database correctly.
However when in ContinueButton_Click
User.Identity.IsAuthenticated is False and
User.Identity.Name is an empty string.
not sure why this is happening.
I have configured LoginCreatedUser="true" and  DisableCreatedUser="false"
 
The user can subsequently login with the credentials that were created.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
