I am working on a Windows 2003 based Intranet application. The users of my application should be authorized to certain functionality in the web app based on their Roles. The Roles in the app are not Windows roles but some app specific roles. How can we achieve windows authentication along with a cutom role based authorization?. Do we need a user table? will it not be a duplication of information aleady available in the ActiveDirectory?.
