Will deny block all files or ASPX only?

If i use the above method and create a user Mike with Allow to directory1  and user david with Deny to directory1

Will this method really protect ALL FILES in directory1 from anyone except mike who logs in.

For example if I place NON ASPX files in this drectory,  i.e.  test.pdf,  test.doc,  test.zip.  Will these files be protected from any direct linking to them.  i.e.  domain.com/directory1/test.pdf
