Transactions in n-tier applications - No distributed

How is the best use of System.Ado transactions in n-tiered applications, Logic or DB, how?

 

Here is my environment:



One presentaction layer (ASP.NET website, out of scope of the problem)

One logic layer (.NET DLL, several business components classes, there are almost separated by concepts, for example InvoiceBL and InventoryBL. These classes contains static methods, no instances variables are needed). The classes implements the logic required to manipulate the concepts and the workflows.

One data layer (.NET DLL, several data access components, separated by concepts, for example InvoiceDB and InventoryBL, controls data-mapping and calls to stored procedures)

One Entity layer (.NET DLL, several entities concepts, ...
