Dynamic DropDown Problem

Hi Guys Im Coming here once again with a hope to find a solution to my problem...
i got a drop drown which im adding dynamically...Im able to add datasource(ItemList) and a preselected value to it and properly displaying it to the UI.
The problem is whenever any post backs happens Im not able to retain the values in the Drop down..
Even Im Taking the reference in the View state.
