conversion of data types

hello,
i have a problem.

I've coded a function:
    Function AdaDro(ByVal aa As String, ByVal dd As String) As String 'funkcja zwraca string z adapter1, nazwa query i nr droplisty
        aadd = "Adapter1." + aa + "(DropDownList" + dd + ".SelectedValue)"
        Return (aadd)
    End Function

It returns a string, for example: "Adapter1.QL01(DropDownList1.SelectedValue" and that's ok but
when i use it there:
Label1.Text= AdaDro("QL01","1") in Label1 I get a string too, not a value.

Can anybody tell me how to fix that?
