Datetime and year

Hi all,
in my db I have two fields, one is called Date (DateTime), the other is called Year (nchar(10)).  I have a calendar dealing with inserting date into the db. and it works fine.
The function that I try to achieve is that when user select a date from the calendar, say 01/01/2010, the year value 2010 will automically insert into the year field.Therefore, users dont need to insert the year value into the textbox again. in other words, the year value of the two fileds have to match. I dont know how to achieve it.


Any help and suggestions are very much appreicated.
