Hi everyone,
This is an update, or clarification to my post below, since I think my question may need clarification.
To put more succinctly: How can I share an authentication cookie between services and a web application?
There are a couple of catches:
- I can't use the membership provider model
- There will be multiple subdomains
- The user name will not be unique; another factor will determine the uniqueness of the user being authenticated
I need to be able to hide certain portions of the UI from unauthorized users as well as demand permissions for methods called in my web services. Is this possible, and if so how?
Thanks
