Im building a MVC Web Application. Im using Active Directory for my Membership provider. For the authentification, i have two options
The first one, use <authentication mode="Windows">. Everything is fine and when i call User.Identity.Name, i get "DOMAIN\USERNAME"
The second choice is to use <authentication mode="Forms">. But when i call User.Identity.Name, i only get "USERNAME"
my problem is if i start adding roles to the database against "windows authentification" and then my boss ask to change the way the users will log to the system, the User will not match the ones on the roles because they are not written in the same way.
So my question is if its possible, with the "forms authentification" to get "DOMAIN\USERNAME" when using the object User.Identity.Name?
i know i can call another object like HttpContext but since the object Use ...
