Problem with understnading the code in event procedure for shopping cart

Hi,
Can someone let me know what does the followng code means, and I also had one question about using this code. I am following the ASP.NET 2.0 Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition Starter Kit book and In that book it uses two table for the product where as I use only one, and what I was wondering was since in the code below it use two hidden field, for me to use this code do I need to get ride of these and if so what do I replace them with:
