We are currently working on a solution that requires us to have some custom IM and Chat room capabilities. The start date for this is down the road a bit, but I'm trying to get some research together before that time comes. I am not familiar with WCF at all, but from the sounds of it, I think I want to use this for this communication feature. Is this true? If so, can anyone point me to someone that has done something similar with WCF?
If I'm way off base, can I get some direction where I should be looking. I've been developing for 10 years, so I'm not a total nube, but I've not done anything like this before.
Also, if someone knows of a product that exists already, it would be much cheaper for us to buy a solution that build it from scratch. The only problem is that the product has to be highly customizable. We would almost need an API of some sort. Control's would be tricky to work with, ...
