Can't change charttypes

I'm having some difficulties with the ASP.NET chart control. (I'm using Visual Web Developer Express)I can make the charts display the values I want, but I can't change the charttype. When I change the type from Column to Line, it still displays the correct values, but only as a column chart. When I change the type to Bar, it even gives me an error saying "Bar charts and column charts cannot exist in the same area" while there is no mention of a column chart anywhere in my project.

I haven't changed anything to the generated code (except for the type, obviously)  and I'm using Chart1.DataBindTable with an array of different values for testing, although I don't see why that should interfere with the displayed chartype.
