This is my first time using a gridview to allow a user to update data pulled from the db after they have completed the inital form with lots of binded dropdowns and text fields. It's updating data for text fields properly for this record. However, I'm storing the data value for the drop down, not the text. The user will not know the relationship (12= corporation, 11=LLP, etc) when they go to edit the data. How do I get a dropdown list of the values to appear in the gridview, and ideally, the value they originally entered should be selected?
For example, it returns a ClientType = 12, which in another Client table equals Corporation. 11 = LLP, 8 = Inc, etc.... When I turn on "enable editing" is it possible to present the user with a dropdown of the text instead of the numbers?
