I wrote a simple asp.net application for our company intranet. Because one can only get to the application on our local intranet server, I don't want to include complicated authentication.
I used the LOGON_USER to acquire the domain\username in VS2010, but when I deploy to our IIS server, I'm having authentication issues.
* If I allow anonymous logins, then the LOGON_USER isn't defined (I understand that this is by design).
* If I allow Digest authentication, my users have to log in each time (and I don't want that, since I should be able to figure out who they are
* If I use any other form of authentication, users cannot log in.
Is there some way I can use anonymous authentication and still get a user name OR is there an authentication form that will allow my application to pull the fact that these users are already authenticated.
Help please.
Thanks.
