TabContainer hides its controls

I have a TabContainer (AJAX Toolkit control) with 7 tabs. At design-time, I'm able to change the Index of the current tab and place controls on the various tabs. At runtime, although I can switch from tab to tab, only the controls on tab 0 (the first one) are visible. Controls placed on the other tabs dont' display! What could I be failing to do here?
