I am trying to write my first ASP.NET 3.5 application, using an SQL Server database, and need a little guidance related to the ASP.NET Membership system.

My users will fall into two groups, those who have previously used an earlier Access-based application (and thus have some historical info in the database) and those who are totally new users. The first group will be pre-registered by me in the Membership system, with the intention of establishing a link to their old data. Their usernames and passwords will be sent to them by email. New users will create their own usernames and passwords, using the normal Membership controls.

My database tables use a unique 4-digit EntrantID to identify each user and I need to find the best way to relate username and EntrantID. I could, of course, create a new table in my database for just that purpose. Alternatively, does the ASP.NET Membership system have any way to store this EntrantID in one of its tables?
