I have tried to load SQL sever express at least 100 times now on my machine, removing things from the registry, removing software adding visual studio 2008, adding the sp1, then removing it all again! I have tried every angle possible and still get
error messages that I have VS2008 on my machine, when I don't anymore. I have cleaned my registry of everything I could find related to VS2008 along with removing the last version of SQL server, rebooted my machine and tried to reload. It always
errors out, I have read every link about faild loads and tried what worked for others... to no avail. What key or keys is SQL server looking for when it detects it and errors out? What I really/only need is the interface so I can query the DB on
our remote server from my Client... should it be this difficult just to load this software? 2005 didn't have these issues.
