Create a class with data from TA

I have a database with one customer table (FirstName, SecondNAme, DoB, Country)
Using VS 2010 I added a dataset object. Within the designer i added a TableAdapter for the customer table adding the above fields.
My question is, could i design a Customer Object (i.e. a class) and hold the data in there, so i could get the relevant field as and when needed? If yes what would be the approach to take and ho would it be done?
