Hiding classes from controls - frustration

I am not too good at jquery , but I seem to look at removing a Button and a textbox from ther Login.aspx webpage, which in the fluid.master it has a ascx control that has both control in there. Now I know that other webpages are also dependent on these controls as well so the logic is use them there but not in those webpages.
The div id's for both are 'NewButton' and 'NewButton2', without single quotations.
Now the logic is in Login.aspx to set display property for those id's from both divs to none like:
#newBlock {display:none;} #newBlock2{display:none;}
But doing this will hide both controls from Login.aspx and also from the other webpages. How do I work around this? Please help. thanks.
