WSAT creates ASPNETDB_NET and then tries to do it again

I have a web site with authentication set to Forms and rolemanager enabled.  When I open WSAT ASPNETDB_NET is created in App_data, but does not show up in Visual Studio automatically.  Whether I leave it like that or make it visible in Solution Explorer and Server Explorer, a problem then arises when I click on security in WSAT.  It tells me it cannot create WSAT ASPNETDB_NET as it already exists and returns error 5170.  The exception message is that it cannot create the database as it already exists.
