I have an asp.net app that includes a company events calendar. All events in the calendar are written to an ics file hosted on the server. Users have the ability to subscribe to this calendar through outlook, gmail, iCal…etc.
To synch their calendar the user needs to add the link provided by my app in their client calendar to the .ics file hosted on my server.
So in outlook for example, a user can choose to add a calendar from internet. All that is needed is the link to the ics file.
This all works fine except I want to enforce a user/password requirement on the ics file. The application uses forms authentication and any user wanting to access the system requires a username and pass.
Is it possible to protect the ics file with the users existing login info?
Thanks.
