Class Library accessing settings from applications app.config

Hi,

I am experiencing some problems when trying to retrieve configuration settings for a class library when they are held in the app.config for the calling application.

As an example, I have the following two situations, both of which demonstrate a similar problem.

Example 1



I have a web application, in which i have created a class which accesses my database. It uses a connection string stored in the web.config file. When I run the web application, all works fine, and my class can connect to the database without any problems whatsoever.
I then decide that I want to share the functionality between other applications, so build a class library for my class, and reference the class library from my web application. I leave the database connection string in the web.config file, as the class library will use the web application's web.config file for its configuration.
