using querystrings to customize web form

I used the "How do I: Create a Contact Us Page" tutorial to create a contact form for our new website.  For the old website I had used old ASP code (pre .Net), and had used querystrings to indicate which staff member received the email. (i.e., if someone had clicked the "Contact Us" link from the Volunteer page, the querystring would autopopulate the subject, and send the email to our Volunteer Coordinator)

I'm unsure how to modify the code in my contact form document to do something similar.  I'm using Visual Web Developer Express, and when I try to add similar ASP code to the page- it creates an "Assembly".
What would be the best way to do something similar with this form?
