Color conversion distortion ???

I have my colors stored as a STRING like #FF0000

I need to convert these colors into a integer or &Hex for the api function that I use, as the function required 'color as integer' example is &H0 ( ie black)

 DIM CS as string = "#FF0000" 'This is RED''
DIM CI as integer =
CI = System.Drawing.ColorTranslator.ToWin32(System.Drawing.ColorTranslator.FromHtml(CS))

 ISSUE: WHen this is drawn, it does not draw as RED, it draws as BLUE ????

WTF !!! Any ideas ???
