I have a dropdownlist that shows a list of courses from table. When the user selects a course, one panel is no longer visible while another becomes visible. The user can make changes to the record or not in that panel. If they do make changes to the record, a separate SQL event causes the original record (from the dropdownlist) to be updated. That SQL update will make the record no longer part of the original dropdown list.
My problem is, after the dropdownlist record is selected, the user makes a change(s), and the update SQL fires from the user triggered event, when I close the panel and make the dropdownlist panel visible again, I can't figure out how to refresh the dropdown list so the recently changed record is no longer part of the list.
I tried DropDownListName.DataBind() in various locations but that doesn't seem to do anything at all. I can't Response.Redirect to the same page because the page consists of a rather lage list ...
