I have a content page in which some code runs in the onload event to sign a user in (based on querystring parameters). If successful, it displays one view from a multview, if it fails then another.
If I use redirectfromlogin() then the user is signed in successfully (but this is not what I'm looking for as then there is no opportunity to display the success message)
If instead I use SetAuthcookie with identical parameters in the same location, then the user is not signed in.
I tried on a standalone page instead of a content page and both cases worked fine there.
I appreciate that this can be worked around by using redirect from login to another page which then shows the dialogues, but I don't see why setauthcookie shouldn't work in this case.
Any suggestions much appreciated.
