I have been banging my head trying to figure out the best practice for my problem.
I am trying to store a number of name-value pairs, while preserving the order in which they are added. For instance, I would like to store a bunch of category names, along with their associated id. However, I need to be able to retrieve them based on the order they were added. SortedList would be work except for the fact that it sorts the keys without my telling it to do so. ArrayLists would allow me to retrieve the values based on the order they were added, but it won't allow me to store an associated key with each entry. I guess I am looking for something that combines an arraylist with a hashtable/sortedlist.
Please forgive me if this is an elementary question.
